This is a digital age; computers and technology are important and part of most people's everyday life. I think incorporating technology in the classroom is important, but the amount depends on the grade level of the school. There is an age when too much technology in the classsroom can interfere with the everyday subjects the students need to learn. There is a part in the article where it talks about internet safety and I found this particular part the most interesting. I really disagree with the part that states, "educating students makes the Internet a safer place." I think that educating the students doesn't necessarily make it safer. There are so many things the kids can do on their that can get them in trouble and no matter how much you watch over their shoulder there is still the chance they will do what they are told not to. I just think the internet should be left to the older kids and only with adult supervision
At what grade level should Technology be introduced to students?
I really believe that technology at too young of an age can just interfere with the everday instructions. My second grader is allowed to use the computer to play games, but in this case the learning games are not as affective as they should be. I am not sure of the correct age to introduce it, but I think the teacher needs to take into consideration the students in the classroom.
Should we put the learning in the hands of students?
I think there needs to be so much instruction and guidance when it comes to letting them learn technology. A student can't be left with a computer to do whatever they would like.
